Built with special cut-and-chip resistant compounds to withstand severe rock mining applications and promote long-term retreadability, the Double Coin REM-12 OTR has a unique non-directional tread design for optimum performance and superior traction. This is an L5-class tire — the deepest tread depth in the OTR spectrum — built for loaders feeding primary crushers in hard-rock mining and aggregate operations where tire life is measured in months, not years.

When a loader bucket bites into a shot-rock muck pile, the tires are running over sharp, angular fragments that would shred conventional tread in weeks. The REM-12's compound is loaded with carbon black and anti-degradant chemistry that resists the micro-cutting action of freshly fractured rock. The open-block geometry actively ejects stones while the non-directional pattern delivers equal traction forward and reverse through constant loader cycling between the face and the crusher hopper.

Why This Tire Matters

In hard-rock mining, loader tires directly impact crusher throughput. A tire failure on the primary loader stops the crusher feed — and a stopped crusher costs thousands per hour in lost production. The REM-12's L5 designation represents an engineering commitment: the compound resists material damage rather than just gradual wear, addressing the dominant failure mode in sharp-rock environments.
